Present Perfect Tense

• Present perfect tense indicates an action that has already occurred at the present time. It is formed using have and the past participle of the word:

  • I have swum, you have swum, she has swum.
    • Note that the third person singular present perfect tense uses has and not have as a helping verb.
  • have/has + past participle = present perfect tense
