The future tense continued...
Future tense indicates an action that will happen in the future.
- I shall swim, you will swim, he will swim.
- Note that the future tense needs a helping verb, either shall or will.
- Remember that the first person future tense uses shall, not will, as a helping verb.
- Note that this is an archaic usage rule that may be ignored in all but the most formal situations. When reading Lord Of the Flies, however, be sure to note that the English school boys all say “I shall”.
